| I am a paralegal student doing a persuasive paper against disbarred attorneys working in the paralegal profession. Does anyone have some ideas on how the regulation of paralegls would be good for eliminating disbarred and suspended attorneys from worknig in our profession? Also, where could I find the info to back up that theory? I have the NFPA's opinion, but I need more. Thanks

| While some states permit disbarred attorneys to work as paralegals, other states have legislation that prohibits disbarred attorneys from working as paralegals. New York State, for instance, has such a law prohibiting disbarred lawyers from working as paralegals. I suggest you find that law, and research its legislative history and any cases you may find. A key cite search will also lead you to much information. Good luck.

| While releated, this may be slightly OT. Please forgive the lapse. Are actual disbarrment proceedings available for public scruinty? If so, where might I view them?

| Disbarment proceedings are usually reported in legal newspapers and in case digests. They are official records of the court, so you will find them in reporters.
